Mrs. Dhoni decided not to practice in preparation for the Chennai Super Kings’ iPL 2025 against Kolkata Knight, and raised concerns about his fitness. However, CSK’s bowling coach Eric Simons confirmed on Tuesday that the captain will play Calcutta on Wednesday 7 May. Simons assured the media that there was no injury for Dhoni and explained why a 43 -year -old man reduced his training during the season.
Dhoni, who managed an unpleasant knee, skipped training seating in Calcutta on Monday and Tuesday, even though his teammates got into nets in the cult Eden Gardens.
“Yes, it is expected to play tomorrow,” Simons said when he spoke to the press in Calcutta on Tuesday.
“As far as the World Championship is concerned, he knows his situation very well. He knows where he is. As for his preparations, he always works very hard at the beginning of the tournament and then let him narrow because he gets into the space where he is ready.
“So, no problems. He just knows when he’s ready and when he’s not.”
Speculation on how Dhoni plays his last competitive match in Eden Gardens – one of the most memorable places of his career – was widespread. Although Dhoni did not talk about the retirement, rumors suggest that CSK Captain does not have to continue to play in IPL after this season.
Earlier in the season, Dhoni asked Danny Morrison Whether he will play next year. The legendary cricket decided to cough the ejector and indicated that he took one match at the same time.
Dhoni may have hoped for decorated swan in IPL 2025, but according to plan things could not be. Dhoni had to enter as a captain after Ruturaj Gaikwad was excluded by injuries in the middle of the season.
Dhoni was expected to reverse the wealth of the team, but CSK lost nine of its first 11 games and was the first team to be excluded from the play -off race.

However, Simons explained how Dhoni made a crossing between the captains. The bowling coach made it clear that Dhoni’s influence in the dressing room remains strong, even if he is not a captain.
“His influence is always there. Sure, now he makes the final decision to place in the field, but his influence – whether he was a captain or not – was always there without anyone saving,” Simons said.
“It has always been an influence, so it was a very smooth transition because of the close relationship with the rut.”
Simons continued: “From selection interviews to field tactics to takeover from someone like him, it facilitated how MS processes these moments.”
“He is a remarkable man from this perspective and was quite smooth for him to enter the role again. Ruturaj is still around, still part of the interviews,” Simons added.
