Kolkata Knight riders announced the departure of head coach Chandrakant Pandit and marked the end of a two -year -old Stint with a franchise. The decision comes after the unsatisfactory campaign IPL 2025, where the KRK ended the eighth in the point table and could not qualify for the play -off.
In an official statement published on Tuesday, franchise said,
“Mr. Chandrakant Pandit decided to explore new opportunities and will not continue as the head coach Kalkata Knight Riders.”
KKR also took the social media to express his gratitude:
“We wish you the best for your future efforts, chand, sir,” she said franchise on X (formerly Twitter).
Pandit, a highly respected figure of an Indian domestic cricket, was named the head coach KRK in August 2022, after his success with Madhya Pradesh in the trophy of Ranja. In IPL 2024, KRK led to their third IPL title and strengthened its authorization at the highest level. However, the franchise could not replicate the same form in the following season.
Under the leadership of Ajinkya Rahane, the KKR managed only 5 wins from 14 matches in IPL 2025, which ended up near the bottom of the ranking. The underlying performance probably contributed to the change.
The knight riders are expected to start looking for a new head coach before the 2026 season, because after a turbulent year they try to reset and rebuild.
Pandit is expected to remain in demand across the domestic and franchise district, due to its proven outcome of care for talent and achieve results.
