The state government will organize Kittur Utsav in the Kittur district in the Belagavi district since October 23.
The District Administration will ask the State Government to award the CRORE 5 GBP for this purpose, said Minister Satish Jarkiholi on Monday in Kittura.
After the chairman of the preparatory meeting he spoke to reporters. Utsav will be held in a meaningful way. “We are trying to become a model festival. It will provide opportunities for the locals, help improve kittura monuments, decorate the lights, clean the bridge and repair the bus stand,” he said.
He previously asked the meeting of representatives of people, officers, local residents and others. “We have made several changes in the program to provide more opportunities to new writers and local artists. We have received complaints about some mistakes in organizing the festival in previous years. We learn from them and correct all gaps. We are looking for cooperation of all people in the state.
Kittur Mla Babasaheb Patil said that books and manuals about the history of kittur will be published.
“Some people asked for some changes in the parade organized on the first day. We will consider it. A large number of students will be invited to the informative program,” he said.
He said that the number of local artists would increase. He said that NWKrtC will lead more buses to the kittura to help visitors. Various committees have already been created for the organization of the festival, he said.
Representatives of the Commissioner Mohammad Roshan said that Kittur Utsav took part in over four visitors last year. He said that the government is planning to get the mother home of Rani Channamma in Kakati and develop it in a tourist attraction.
Some members of the Organizational Committee have proposed that it should be made a national celebration and the Veera Jyoti procession should also be transported to other districts. They required cleaning and beautification, proper supply of drinking water and energy, CCTV and other equipment.
Some complained that last year the suppliers’ accounts were not paid in time. Others urged the government to survive the schoolboy at the festival.
The local senior spoke a citizen and said that even though it has been a new Kittur Taluk, many offices at the Taluk level were not moved from Bailhong. He asked the most important offices to the public moved to the kittura.
