Occasional shooting and deafening sounds by explosions rattles The wooded area in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kishtwar district when the operation of terrorists neutralization entered the second day on Monday (August 11, 2025), the officials said.
It is assumed that terrorists are hiding inside the cave on a cliff in the Bhagna forest in the DOOL area, about 25 km from Kishtwar, the officials said.
Search operations in the forest region soon began on Sunday (August 10, 2025) after the intelligence entry about the presence of the two most sought -after terrorists Hezbul Mujahideen – Riyaz Ahmad and Mudassar Hazari – who have been active in the district over the past eight years and carry a reward for £ 10.
On Sunday (August 10, 2025), at the search parties, terrorists set fire to the searches in ongoing parties and fled deep into the forest in the face of a retaliation, the officials said, adding occasional fire exchange twice.
The cordon and search operations were strengthened by the connection of the military, including Para Command, the police and the CRPF, and the deployment of drones to ensure that terrorists were unable to escape, officials said.
They said that shooting from terrorists was last reported near the cave, which is said to be very deep, Sunday evening with security forces suspects that they managed to hide inside.
Several strong explosions and intermittent shooting were reported overnight, officials said, adding that the search operation is turned on and more details are expected.
