Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Pandjab Kings (PBKS) was published to support the victims of floods in Pandjab by donating 33.8 Lakhs RS in relief. The state is currently facing its worst floods in decades. According to the State Government Bulletin, the Flood claimed 37 lives and influenced more than 3.5 Lakh people.
While initially 12 districts brought the onslaught of disaster, all 23 districts in the state were now declared affected floods. In such tragic times, Kings Pandjab applied to give relief to the partnership with the Hemkunt Foundation and the round table of India as part of their campaign “Together for Pandjab”.
PBKS donated 33.8 Lakhs RS and funds will help provide inflatable rescue boats for evacuation of stuck families, medical emergencies and supplying basic auxiliary supplies together with clean drinking water to support individuals affected by floods in the state. Ships will continue to be used as assets for catastrophe in pandjab for future emergencies.
In addition, they also start a fundraising campaign on Ketto to increase Crore INR 2. The funds collected will be devoted to Global Sikh Charity, which will use assistance to further help the reconstruction of Punjab. More than 1,000 villages were flooded and approximately 61,000 hectares of agricultural land immersed and moved about 1.46 million inhabitants. Floods, driven by swollen rubble, beas and ravi, were triggered by intense precipitation in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir, along with the reinforcement of the dam upstream.
There are rescue operations: more than 11,000 people have already been evacuated to safer areas with the help of the Army, NDRF, BSF and local authorities. Reliefs and rehabilitation plans are introduced.
