In his fire, King Charles spoke of Myanmar since his hospitalization, where at least 1600 people killed a massive earthquake.
In a statement published on X, King Charles said, “My wife (Queen Camilla) and I were most terribly shocked and grim when we learned of the devastating earthquake in Myanmar, with the tragic loss of life and appalling damage to home, buildings and living, not to mention the destruction of sacred pagod”.
“I know that people from Myanmar continue to last so much hardship and tragedy in your life, and I have long admired your extraordinary resistance and spirit.”
He continued and added, “The deepest maybe compassion for all who suffered a deep tragedy of the loss of their loved ones, their homes and their rare livelihood.”
The earthquake of 7.7 Magnitude hit the northwest of Sagaing in the central Myanmar on Friday, followed by a few minutes later by the 6.7 Magnitude. The earthquake destroyed the buildings, shot down the bridges, and switched the roads across the lines of an isolated state, which created a rare request for international assistance. The number of victims from the earthquake exceeded 16,000.
While Myanmar, formerly known as Burma, used to be a British colony, is not a member of the block of nations led by Charles.
The king experienced temporary side effects: the palace on his hospitalization
The report comes only two days after the Buckingham Palace spokesman told Sun that he was hospitalized for “planned and ongoing medical cancer treatment”.
“The king experienced temporary side effects that required a short time of observation in the hospital,” said Buckingham Palace rep and added, “Postponing the afternoon obligations of his Majesty was postponed.”
The spokesman shared that although Charles had already returned to his London residence, Clarence House, all his orders for Friday would be overcrowded “as a preventive measure acting on the medical council”.
“His Majesty would like to apologize to all those who may be unpleasant or disappointed as a result,” the statement concluded.
In February 2024, Buckingham Palace announced that Charles was diagnosed with cancer after surgery for benign prostate enlargement. It is not known what type of cancer has Charles.
