
King Charles III expressed deep sadness over the flight of Air India AI171 in Ahmedabad, who claimed numerous lives and influenced passengers from several nations, including Great Britain.
“My wife and I were desperately shocked this morning by terrible events in Ahmedabad,” the king said in his statement.
“Our special prayers and the deepest maybe compassion is with the families and friends of all those who are this terribly tragic incident across so many nations that they are waiting for news of their loved ones.”
He also praised emergency services and added: “I would like to pay a special tribute to the heroic efforts of emergency services and all those who provide assistance and support in this lightest and traumatic time.”
British PM calls a “devastating” crash
British Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer described the crash of London aircraft as “devastating”.
“The scenes that appear on a London aircraft bearing many British nationals who collapsed in the Indian city of Ahmedabad are devastating,” he said.
“As the situation evolves, I keep updating and my thoughts are with passengers and their families in this deeply desperate time.”
The United Kingdom mobilizes the support of the crisis
British Foreign Minister David Lammy shared condolences and confirmed that the United Kingdom actively coordinates with the Indian authorities.
“Deeply saddled news of the devastating crash of aircraft in Ahmedabad, India. My thoughts are with all the disabled,” Lammy wrote on social media.
“Great Britain cooperates with local authorities in India to urgently make facts and provide support.”
British foreign, social and development agency (FCDO) activated crisis teams in London and Delhi and released a consular line of help 020 7008 5000 for families of British nationals.

The leader of the Conservative Party of Kemi Badenoch called the tragedy “heartbreaking” and added: “My thoughts are with all the affected people – especially people on board and emergency teams responding to what seems to be a scary tragedy.”
Gatwick Airport corresponds to the reception center
London Gatwick Airport confirmed that the unfortunate flight AI171 was to arrive by 18:25 BST. The airport started supporting operations for passenger families.
“We can confirm the Flight AI171, which was involved in an accident when leaving Ahmedabad today (June 12), was caused by London’s land at 18:25 BST,” he said in a statement.
“The reception center for relatives on board is set up where information and support will be provided. Our thoughts are with the family and friends of people on board.”
Scary crash captured on video
Dramatic shots of circulating online show that the Boeing 787 Dreamliner flies low above the living area before it hints at a fire ball. The dense talls of black smoke were seen from the locality.
The images of the consequences were revealed by burnt debris stored in the structure of the residential building, with aircraft parts – including tail, torso and landing equipment – protruding from debris.

Reaction PM modi and airline
Prime Minister Narendra Modi described the incident as “heartbreaking over words” and said he was in contact with the officials supervising rescue.
The chairman of Air India N. Chandrasecaran described this as a “tragic accident” and stated that the support teams were activated. “Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with families and loved ones of all those who were affected by this devastating event,” Chandrasecaran said.
“We do everything we can to help teams to reaction to emergencies and provide all the necessary support and care.”

Officials are currently looking for a recorder of flight and voice recorder of the aircraft, commonly known as a black box to explore the cause of the crash.
