The search for a tiger who killed a man in Kalikava continued the second day on Saturday. On Thursday morning, Gafoor Ali (44) was fatally attacked by a tiger, while he tapped on a rubber on the plantation he rented in an adakcakund in Kalikav.
Although the animal avoided the forest search team, the cameras set by the Forest staff were caught on Friday evening. An adult tiger, probably eight or 10 years old, was captured in a camera set in the private plantation, where Gafoor was attacked on Thursday.
Kalikava forest officer P. Rajeev said the tiger found in the camera was in the Silent Valley National Park database. The forest line of Kalikava is adjacent to the forests that form a buffer for the Silent Valley National Park.
The private plantations in which the attack occurred had a dense undergrowth, which facilitated wild animals to enter the area.
Mr. Rajeev said that the search would continue on Sunday. The search group consists of more than 50 members divided into three teams. Kumki elephants also help in finding forest staff.
It is planned to calm down and capture the tiger without causing harm if possible. However, the teams are prepared for extreme circumstances where self -defense may be necessary, and tiger shooting can become an inevitable possibility.

Meanwhile, Nilambur South Divisional Forest officer Dhanik Lal was transferred to the forest headquarters in Thiruvananthapurama, even though he led a tiger.
Although the forest department says that the transfer was in connection with the case of alertness in Muvattpuzha, allegedly the political hands were behind the pull.
