A video of social media influencer and mimic Ratan Ranjan has gone viral on social media where he is seen dressed as Mamata Banerjee and performing a satirical act outside the BJP headquarters in Delhi. Carrying a plate of jhalmuri, he performs a political skit that has garnered huge attention on social media.
In the clip, Ranjan wears Banerjee’s signature white and blue saree and mimics her voice, tone and gestures. In a dramatic speech to “Modiji”, he delivers a monologue filled with sharp political humor and exaggerated expressions, attracting the attention of those around him.
An artist mimicking the style and gait of the Trinamool Congress (TMC) supremo has claimed that it is “game over” for the ruling party in Bengal.
“Bengal game is over. Hindus rose up in Bengal this time. They played Didi game. People of Bengal said they don’t want Didi this time, they want Amit Dada and Modi Dada.”
said Ranjan imitating the Chief Minister. Modi ji went to Bengal and had ‘jhalmuri’. He had a ‘jhalmuri’ and pulled out my seat. I lost my chair.”
Who will take care of Bangladeshi infiltrators in Bengal? Give me back my chair, I won’t give it up. I have lost, but I will not give up my chair, I will run away with it,” he added in his satirical performance, drawing a crowd of onlookers and party workers at the BJP headquarters.
He also refers to the Trinamool Congress slogan “khela ho gaya”, using it sarcastically to suggest that “the game is over” for “Didi”. The scene imagines a situation in which Banerjee complains of losing political ground and asks for her “seat” back.
At one point, Ranjan declares that he will “sit here and not leave” until his “chair”, which symbolizes the post of chief minister, is returned.
