‘Khan Sir’ coaching institute vandalized in Bihar’s Patna

The Bihar Police on Wednesday (June 3, 2026) arrested three people, including the director of a coaching institute, in connection with stone pelting and vandalism at the Faisal Khan Coaching Center in Patna.

The incident took place at Khan Global Studies in Kadamkuan Police Station area on Tuesday (June 2, 2026) night. Mr Khan, popularly known as “Khan Sir”, claimed that people associated with a rival coaching institute were behind the attack.

Kanhaiya Singh of Khan Global Studies filed a First Information Report (FIR) against four named individuals and 15-20 unidentified persons. During the incident, a security guard at the coaching center was allegedly assaulted and suffered a head injury. He is undergoing treatment at Patna Medical College Hospital (PMCH).

Rajesh Ranjan, Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO), Nagar-1 (Patna), said, “The police received information around 10:10 pm on Tuesday that some individuals were pelting stones, vandalizing and allegedly firing at Khan Global Studies. Based on the FIR, the police arrested Roshan Anand, director of Gyan Bindu, along with two others are being sent to Justice Garavcus Abto. The identities of the remaining accused have also been ascertained.”

In a separate press statement, the Inspector General of City Police (Central, Patna) said that inquiries with local people and CCTV footage revealed that the attack was carried out by 15 to 20 persons associated with Gyan Bindu Coaching Institute.

“After reviewing the CCTV footage, no confirmation of any firing was found. Raids are on and further legal action is underway to arrest the accused involved in the incident,” the SP said.

Speaking to reporters after the incident on Tuesday evening, Mr Khan said: “Some anti-social elements from a nearby coaching center caused extensive damage, severely beat our guards and even fired. Their anger is how can someone teach students at such a low cost and still get good results every year.”

On Wednesday, Mr Khan said: “The police investigation is ongoing. Once the findings come in, we will know exactly what happened. We are not sitting here ready for any argument or argument over what did or did not happen.”

He said adequate security measures were taken during the night and urged the Bihar Chief Minister to ensure continued deployment of staff, citing the large number of economically weaker students enrolled in the institute.

Meanwhile, Roshan Anand denied the allegations and claimed that attempts were made to defame him and his coaching institute.

Reacting to the incident, Bihar Education Minister Mithilesh Tiwari said the state government would formulate a policy in the next three months to prevent rivalry between coaching institutes from disrupting law and order.
