
The 26 -year -old Kerala tourist, who was transferred to a limited area at the point of the rock near Gudalur in Nilgiris, died after the frozen swarm of insects on Wednesday, either bees or wasps on Wednesday.
The deceased was identified as Shabbir of Kozhikode. It is said that he was visiting the area with his friend Asif, 26 when the incident occurred. The duo reportedly did not comply with the warning of forest department staff published in this area, which asked them not to be disturbed by the barricaded area.
It is said that they threw stones on the hive, which caused them to attack insects. While Asif escaped from an area with injury, Shabbir was crossed by insects.
Forest staff and rescuers from the fire and rescue services who were informed about the incident were threatened to save Shabbira. Shabbir, however, died and his body was taken to Gudalur’s government hospital for postmort.
