Two recent successful heart transplants in Kerala gave dynamics to register organ disputes in the state, with more than 500 registrations received in four days of operations.
In Kochi, Thursday, September 11 and Saturday (September 13), two heart transplant operations were performed because the organs were harvested from patients with brain in Thiruvananthapuram and Kochi.
On Thursday, the donor’s heart from ISSAC George, who was a dead brain, was taken from Thiruvananthapuram. It was successfully transplanted into 28 -year -old native Angamala. In the early hours of Saturday, another heart transplant operation was performed when the heart was donated by 18 -year -old Biljith, the victims of the dead brain accident, transplanted into 13 years. Both operations were performed in Lisie Hospital in Kochi by a team led by a heart surgeon Dr. Jose Chack Periyappuram.
The highest number of organ regulations was from Thiruvananthapuram, which was 80 years. This was followed by 58 registrations from Ernacula and 55 from Kollam.
