Kerala Revised Budget: In-principle approval of Cheemeni Industrial Park

The Kerala government’s revised budget for 2026-27, presented by Chief Minister VD Satheesan on Friday (June 19, 2026), approved in principle the proposed Logistics High-Tech Vertical Industrial Park at KINFRA land in Cheemeni, a flagship project proposed by Trikaripur MLA Sandeep Warrier.

The project, which is expected to create around 15,000 jobs, is among a number of development initiatives approved for the constituency. The MLA said that the projects were brought forward with the sole objective of accelerating the development of Trikaripur and expressed confidence that more major initiatives would follow in the coming years.

The approved projects include the beautification of Trikaripur; second phase BM and BC work on 4.5 km stretch of Neeleswaram-Thaikadapuram road; BM and BC are working on the 3 km stretch of the Cherupuzha-Ayannur-Kundeni bridge; construction of a causeway from Padanna Kadapuram to Trikaripur Kadapuram in Valiyaparamba grama panchayat; development of Kooliyad Government Higher Secondary School grounds; construction of a dam at Pungamchal across the Chitravahini river in West Eleri grama panchayat; construction of a 30,000 liter water reservoir at Purathekkai in Nileshwaram municipality; replacement of tiling and installation of protective gratings at MRS Vellachal School and Hostel; establishment of Beach Tourism Facilitation Center at Valiyaparamba Beach; and Cheemeni Logistics High-Tech Vertical Industrial Park.

Mr Warrier said the approvals reflect the government’s recognition of the constituency’s development priorities and will significantly boost infrastructure, tourism, water supply and job creation in the region.
