On Wednesday, October 22, at the Pramadam Stadium in Kerala, part of the surface of the heliport collapsed under the weight of the helicopter carrying President Droupadi Murma. President Murmu in Kerala on a 4-day official visit
President Droupadi Murmu was scheduled to offer prayers at the Lord Ayyappa temple in Sabarimala on Wednesday.
The President, who arrived in Thiruvananthapuram on Tuesday evening on a four-day official visit to the southern state, left for Pathanamthitta district, where the mountain sanctuary is located, this morning.
The President’s convoy left Raj Bhavan for the airport at 7:25 am. From there, they will fly by helicopter to Pramadam in Pathanamthitta district before proceeding to Pamba, at the foothills of Sabarimala.
Officials from the Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB) said all arrangements are in place for President Murma’s visit to Sabarimala.
He will reach the Sannidhanam in a convoy of five four wheel drive vehicles and an ambulance along Swami Ayyappan Road and the traditional tourist trail. Security has been beefed up and a convoy test was held recently, TDB officials added.
After darshan, he will return to Thiruvananthapuram in the evening.
He will unveil a bust of former president KR Narayanan at the Raj Bhavan on Thursday.
Later, he will inaugurate Guru Sree Narayan’s Mahasamadhi centenary celebrations at Sivagri Mutt in the first and attend the platinum jubilee celebrations at st college. thomas in pala, kottayam district.
President Murmu will conclude her visit to Kerala on October 24 by attending the centenary celebrations of ST Teresa College in Ernakulam.
Kerala Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, other members of the public and senior officials welcomed her at the international airport on Tuesday.
