“In Kerala, the role of the Catholic Church in healthcare is not only history – it is an evolving mission,” Tharoor said.
Mr. Tharoor, who quoted the contributions of Christian health institutions, said they remain “public health pillars” and combine clinical perfection with a deep sense of services. “Kerala has more than 35 nursing universities and dozens of hospitals operated by Christian institutions. Mr. Tharoor urged the balance between the efficiency of businesses and missionary compassion. “The challenge is not to refuse to participate in enterprises, but to ensure that their resources serve their own capital and perfection,” he said.
Monsignor Mathew Muringheather Memorial National Level Health Care and Missionary Award was awarded Ajit Ronald Gurubachan Singh, who was actively involved in community vaccination programs, TB and ODISHA and Chhattisgarh, function.
