Thiruvananthapuram district will have a total of 16 counting centers on December 13 (Saturday) for the counting of votes polled in the local body elections held on December 9, the State Election Commission (SEC) said.
Counting will begin at 8 a.m. in all centers.
The enumeration centers for the block panchayats are as follows: Parassala (Government Girls High School, Parassala), Perumkadavila (Government High School, Marayamuttom), Athiyannur (New Higher Secondary School, Nellimoodu), Nemom (Government VHSS, Malayinkeezhu), Pothencode (St Xavier’s Karthiella Government College, Vothkeyal College School, Vellanad), Nedumangad (Government Girls HSS, Nedumangad). Vamanapuram (Govt HSS, Pirappancode), Kilimanoor (Govt Model VHSS, Kilimanoor), Chirayinkeezhu (Govt Boys High School, Attingal), Varkala (Sree Narayana College, Sivagiri).
The following enumeration centers will be used for the municipalities: Attingal (various halls of Attingal Municipal Office), Neyyatinkara (Government HSS, Neyyatinkara), Nedumangad (Boys’ High School, Mancha), Varkala (Varkala Municipal Office).
Votes polled in Thiruvananthapuram Corporation will be tallied at Mar Ivanios College in the city.
Thiruvananthapuram district recorded a voter turnout of 67.47% with 19,65,386 out of a total of 29,12,773 voters exercising their franchise, according to the final results of the first phase released on Wednesday. In the district, 67.70% male voters, 67.37% female voters and 53.12% transgender voters cast their vote on December 9.
Thiruvananthapuram Corporation had a low voter turnout of 58.29% with only 4,75,011 out of 8,14,967 voters exercising their franchise.
