The final electoral roll released by the State Election Commission on Saturday (October 25) ahead of the 2025 local body elections in Kerala has a total of 2,84,46,762 voters.
The number is higher by just over 7.8 million voters compared to the list of voters used for the 2020 local elections and higher by 1,34,290 voters compared to the draft list published by the commission on September 29 this year for the current revision of the lists. The updated list also has 2,798 overseas voters, the commission headed by A. Shajahan said.
The list has been updated to reflect the changes that have occurred in local body boundaries following the ward delimitation exercise.
The commission, which is mandated to prepare voter lists and conduct local body elections, received 4.62 million requests for names to be included in the list.
The list has been revised with January 1, 2025 as the qualifying date for enrollment. The list is applicable to 17,337 wards in 941 grama panchayats, 3,240 wards in 87 municipalities and 421 wards in six corporations.
The commission published the draft voter list on September 29. The list was finalized after reviewing applications and complaints received by October 14.
The updated list is available on the website of the commission sec.kerala.gov.in, local bodies and taluk and village authorities.
