On Sunday, the curtains increased at the second edition of the International Literary Festival of Keral (ILFK), while the writer Vaisakan raised the flag of the festival at the Keral Sahitya Academs. Minister of income K. Rajan formally launched the festival and declared him a cultural reaction to dividing stories around the world. In honor of the writer MT Vasudevan Nair, he also appointed the Academy as MT Auditorium.
“At a time when lies are widespread and lies are used to undermine literature and culture, through this festival, Keral presents a worldly alternative to the world,” said Mr. Rajan.
This is the moment to realize how the rich cultural heritage is deliberately undermined. There are even dangerous attempts to destroy state cultural progress by spreading distorted and deceptive stories through the cinema, added the minister.
“The most enriching moment of this festival is the determination of the Academy’s auditorium MT, the beloved writer of each generation and every era,” the minister said.

Minister of Higher Education R. Bindu while publishing a festival book and a bulletin, spoke about the unbeatable Kerala movement. “With thousands of public libraries, academic libraries and study rooms, Kerala has the highest library density in the country. The rest of India deals with admiration and curiosity,” she said.
The event was chaired by MLA P. Balachandran, with the main guest of the President of the District Panchayat Vs Prince. The President of the Academy K. Satchidanandan outlined the vision of the festival, while also attended by cultural leaders, artists and writers from abroad.
The festival, which runs until 21 August, will contain almost 70 sessions, including debates, lectures, children’s literature events, theaters and cultural performances in three phases.
