The Kerala High Court has stayed the state government’s alleged move to legalize the employment of a section of temporary employees who have worked for more than 10 years.
This follows the government’s alleged delay in submitting an affidavit in the matter, despite repeated reminders. Petitions were filed in the court challenging an order passed a month ago that legalized the employment of employees who were posted on honoraria or daily wages in many departments more than 10 years ago. The petitioners said it was against the High Court’s order in this regard issued in 2025, which was issued on the basis of the norms issued by the Supreme Court. They alleged that the government was trying to regularize a section of temporary employees who had been working in various capacities for more than 10 years in several departments. The matter was posted for hearing on March 2.
