Kerala HC again issues police protection order for Kumbh Mela viral woman
The Kerala High Court on Tuesday (July 21, 2026) ordered the Station House Officer (SHO) of Palarivattom police station to provide protection to the actor-woman of Kumbh Mela fame for the second time.
She sought police protection after allegedly receiving life-threatening messages in early June.
Judge Bechu Kurian Thomas had earlier revoked a police protection order granted to her after the police informed the court that she was unavailable despite repeated attempts to contact her. The court directed the Ernakulam Central Police Station to provide her protection if she approached them with a written request.
She subsequently sought police protection from the Palarivattom police while she was moving home. The court was told that the woman was given the contact details of an Assistant Sub-Inspector of Police in case she needed urgent protection.
The interfaith marriage of the actress and her husband Farmaan Khan sparked controversy after her father filed a complaint that she was abducted by Mr. Khan and that she was a minor at the time of the marriage. The couple has since approached the Madhya Pradesh High Court seeking bail and other remedies in relation to the allegations leveled against Mr Khan.
