Kerala General Administration Department website hacked, Pakistani group claims responsibility

The official website of the Kerala government’s General Administration Department was hacked by a suspected Pakistani group on Sunday, officials said. According to department officials, the site was hacked in the morning and the Pakistani flag was displayed on it.

A message was also posted on the site that the site had been hacked by “Team Blackleets”, along with a slogan bashing Pakistan. “We are Pakistani hackers. Every day many websites are hacked, today is your day,” the message read.

After it was discovered that the website had been hacked, the hosting provider suspended the account, officials said. A cyber team is investigating the data breach and the website will be restored once it is secure, officials said. The department will also report the matter to the cyber police for investigation and a complaint will be lodged soon, they said. The Kerala State IT Mission operates key state government websites and e-governance programmes.
