
The Chief Minister of Pinaraya Vijayan announced a number of programs to reinforce the state campaign against drug abuse.
On Wednesday, which focused on a press conference, Mr. Vijayan said that the government would mean 26 June, International Day against Drug Abuse and illegal trading, starting the fifth phase of its complex drug campaign.
The campaign, which will take place within 30 January, will include a wide range of public participation and activities to raise awareness. Under the leadership of elected representatives, the inauguration will be held at the district level.
A special program called “Method of Inspiration” will be held simultaneously at all universities throughout the state. The programs will participate in ministers, representatives of people and film personalities.
The inhabitants of the population will also be launched at the community level “My family, a family without drugs”. The aim of this initiative is to encourage families to commit themselves to a lifestyle without drugs. At the Taluk level, an association will be awarded that show the best performance in terms of reach and impact in the next three months, the main minister said.
The collection of awareness will be organized in schools and universities of the National Service scheme, units of student police cadets and drug clubs. School parliaments will be carried out on a medium and higher secondary level to emphasize the topic “without drugs, safe school – children’s rights”. In addition, at 11:00 am June 26, all government authorities will manage drug pledge to employees throughout the state.
As part of the “Operation D-Hunt”, the police projected from 10 to 16 June to 16 June 13 700 individuals. Up to 730 cases were registered and 769 suspected arrested. The seized contraband included 378.375 g MDMA and 24.833 kg of Ganja. During this period, 274 source reports related to drugs were handed over for the subsequent event.
In addition, the excise tax department confiscated 19.937 kg of Ganja, 20.71 g MDMA and 0.6 g methamphetamine from 8 to 14 June. A total of 238 cases were registered and 221 people were arrested.
