
The two-day 13th annual conference on the Kerala Economic Association (KEA), which began at the Gulati Institute of Finance and Taxation (GIFT) here on Friday, featured sessions on labor law and ‘teaching economics’.
Prof. Sumangala Damodaran spoke about recent changes in Indian labor law. S. Harikumar chaired a round table discussion on ‘Teaching Economics’.
The two-day annual conference was inaugurated earlier on Friday by well-known development economist KP Kannan. KEA President and State Finance Commission Chairman KN Harilal presided. The main speech was delivered by KEA patron and prominent economist MA Oommen.
Prof. Kannan was honored and presented with a citation on the occasion.
The book ‘Kerala Transforming Labor and Trade Mobility in Times of Pandemic’ edited by PL Beena and Thiagu Ranganathan was discussed on Friday.
The discussion and presentation of contributions by experts will take place on Saturday, the organizers said.
