
It seems that the capital, which once had a reputation to be a place sleeping early, expands the areas devoted to night life activities. Moderated on the existing “Night Street” in Manaveeyam Vaedhi, another project on the same lines is to come to Palayam. The work, interested in the Smart City City Corporation project, is currently taking place on both sides of the short section from the Main Gate of the University High School to the University Library.
The project, which is implemented in cooperation with the Keral Road Fund Board, includes the installation of specially designed street headlights, the construction of a small temporary phase and a gallery for performances, pavement of wider, various friendly sidewalks, installation of video walls for important corporations, food horns and other equipment. The street will also be beautified by pots and landscaping. The work on the night street is expected to be completed by May or June.
It is still unknown whether the restrictions in traffic will be stored on the road at night, as in Manaveeyam Vaedhi because it is the main connecting road. MANVEEEYAM VEEDHI operation is regulated especially on weekends, when crowds of overvoltage and during various events.
Thiruvananthapuram Corporation has been actively considering different places in recent years to expand the activities of nightlife in the capital. Although at first there were minor controversies associated with several violent incidents concerning the revellers after the opening of the night street in Manaveeyam Vaedhi in October 2023, things have now settled. Youth and families are now visiting the street that remains the center of activity until late night. Police staff published on both sides of the street and police assistance established in one of the corners ensured the safety of visitors.
The Kowdiar-Pattom, which has appeared a large number of popular restaurants in recent years, has also been considered to expand activities in nightlife, but the association of the population in this region did not.
