
District Collector Anu Kumari said on Monday that arrangements have been made for the smooth conduct of the April 9 assembly elections in Thiruvananthapuram district. The constituency will have 3,173 polling stations, including 440 new ones. There are a total of 124 sample polling stations.
Home voting equipment will be made available to senior citizens over 85 and bedridden patients. There are 24,000 bedridden patients in the electoral roll at the district level. As part of the elections, five integrated check posts were also organized in the district. Three flying squads have been deployed in 14 assembly constituencies in the district. Candidates can submit their nominations until March 23.
