District Collector Anu Kumari and her team took part in a paragliding and parasailing event at Varkala on Sunday as part of a campaign to ensure maximum voter turnout in the Thiruvananthapuram district assembly elections held on April 9.
While paragliding was operated from Varkala cliff, parasailing was organized at Papanasam beach. Ms. Kumari urged all eligible voters to exercise their right to vote without any hassle on April 9.
The event was organized as part of the Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) program of the Election Commission of India.
Meanwhile, training for election officials in the district will begin on Tuesday. Randomization of Phase I officials has been completed, election officials said.
