A comprehensive investigation is underway into several suspected incidents of impersonation and fake voting reported by leaders of some political parties in Kozhikode district. Police and electoral authorities have started collecting digital evidence of many complaints to ensure fair investigation of complaints.
According to police sources, the complaints came from urban and rural constituencies. Within Kozhikode city limits, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders have filed complaints of alleged fake voting in Beypore constituency. The statements of the election officials will be recorded soon.
