
According to the latest updates, election officials accepted 1,637 nomination forms and rejected 337 after Tuesday’s (March 24, 2026) review of nomination papers submitted for the April 9 general election.
In addition, two nomination forms were also withdrawn, according to data available till 6pm on Tuesday.
On Monday (March 23) at 3:00 p.m., the deadline for submission of proposals ended for a total of 1,254 candidates submitted with 2,125 proposal forms.
The definitive image of the list of candidates will be created after the deadline for withdrawing nominations on March 26.
Meanwhile, election officials flagged 2,29,980 violations of the model code of conduct. Action has been taken in 2,29,232 cases, according to an update issued by the office of Chief Electoral Officer (Kerala) Rathan U. Kelkar. On Tuesday alone, 48,639 offenses were reported.
