Kerala University on Tuesday acknowledged outages in its investigation system, which led to a loss of several responses to MBA exam last year.
The university repeated its decision to review for disabled students on April 7. April 22 will be provided another opportunity for those who cannot participate. The special exam will be held at seven universities and students will be able to choose the centers closest to their homes.
The university also stated that the teacher responsible for losing the answers will be excluded from the investigation obligations. Other disciplinary measures are considered, including possible suspension.
This problem arose when 71 MBA students from five universities were asked to take over from the third semester to finance the project, originally held in May 2024, after they turned out that their answers disappeared during transit in Palakkad.
The vice -chairman (authorized) Mohanan Kunnummal, who convened meetings for discussion on this matter, said that the results of the third semester tests would be published within three to four days after the review. The fourth semester tests were evaluated and would be completed within one month.
Before sessions of delegations of the affected students, she demanded that the stamps be granted on the basis of the average test results, avoiding the review. The university, however, rejected this proposal and quoted concerns that this could affect the future prospects of students and disadvantage those who have failed in previous attempts.
Students expressed dissatisfaction and stated that they were planning to take legal action, and claim that they were not consulted in this matter. Many of the affected students who attended their courses last year were currently employed outside the state or abroad, which made it difficult to participate in the re -examinations in a short time.
Prof. Kunnummal admitted the university’s shortcomings and explained that the responses were evaluated seven months after the tests. He also pointed out that while the teacher reported the loss of documents on January 14, two months before the measures began. He attributed this delay by systemic failure at the university that tried to respond because of time -consuming processes.
The university planned to implement a daily monitoring system that would solve the test -related problems and awarded test controllers to make more energy immediately. The university would also present a digital evaluation system on the screen within one year.
Kunnummal emphasized the unwillingness between self -collection universities in the evaluation of responses to scripts due to insufficient reward. The problem stems from the implementation of the UGC standard, which did not allow the remuneration of teachers who received the UGC salaries to evaluate the response scripts.
“Strangely, this was applied in the case of teachers from unaided Colleges, Who Recussion Much Lower Salaries. Besides, Some Colleges Deny Wages to Teachers on Days When They Athend Valuation Camps. that is a predominantly offered by affiliated self-financing college.
In order to solve the problem, the university will offer rewards to teachers evaluating the answers to the sheets and in the future also centralize the evaluation process.
However, members of the pro-left syndicates have denied that the university refused to solve the problem.
