The former Indian cricket Mohammad Kaif believes that Super Giants Lucknow should focus on investing in fit and permanently available players than to spend big money on stars with the history of injury. LSG was excluded from the playoffs of the Indian Premier League 2025 after the defeat of six goals against Sunrisers Hyderabad.
The LSG bowling unit could not be delivered on the day, unable to contain similar to Abhishek Sharma and Heinrich Klaasen, when visitors sailed a record persecution of 206 runs at the Ekana stadium in Lucknow. After the match, the captain of the LSG Rishabh Pant accused the non -cutting bowling line -up of the team For defeat and admitted that the absence of their frontline pitchers this season proved to be expensive.
Mohammad Kaif has responded to Pant’s comments, suggesting that LSG should prefer the maintenance of players who are likely to stay fit in the season rather than invest in the names of injury.
Before the Mega auction in 2024, LSG retained Nicholas Poorana (RS 21 Crore), Ravi Bishnoi (RS 11 crore), Mayank Yadav (RS 11 Crore), Mohsin Khan (RS 4 Crore) and Ayush Badoni (RS 4 Crore).
For most of the season, however, they were excluded by both of their leaves left – Mayank and Mohsin -. While Mayank Yadav played only two matches at IPL 2025, he returned deep below his best, bowling at a reduced pace and on 50 over his performance.
“I’d rather pay money to maintain players who can play all season. The whole bowling attack of LSG is susceptible to injury. I’m not saying injury will not happen, but for players who are more susceptible to them-keep them for big money.
On Monday, May 19, LSG was officially removed from the play -off race. This meant their fourth consecutive loss in what turned out to be a catastrophic second half of the season. When two matches remain, Lucknow will now try to end his campaign with a positive remark.
