Krishnadevaraya Educational and Cultural Association, a non-profit organization committed to empowering underprivileged deserving students through scholarships and skill development, celebrated its golden jubilee at the Amara Raja campus in Tirupati on Saturday.
Over the past five decades, the association has remained steadfast in its mission to uplift the economically disadvantaged rural youth through education. So far, it has extended financial assistance of ₹5 crore to over 3,600 students. Every year, about 250 students receive scholarships of ₹50 lakh.
Envisioned by Amara Raja Group founder Ramachandra N. Galla and his wife Aruna Kumari Galla, the association has since its inception focused on expanding access to quality education and improving employability among the rural youth, a press statement said.
On the occasion, Ms. Aruna Kumari announced a donation of ₹ 1 million to the association from the proceeds of her autobiography. Among those who attended the celebrations were Union Civil Aviation Minister K. Ram Mohan Naidu, former Maganti MP Murali Mohan and Chittoor MLA Gurajala Jagan Mohan.
