The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) has opened the option entry portal on its website from Saturday for candidates under the first round of allotment of seats for admissions to professional courses including engineering, veterinary, agriculture and others.

KEA Executive Director H. Prasanna said in a release, “Candidates can enter their preferred colleges and courses in order of priority on June 30 till 10:00 AM. The result of the mock seat allotment will be announced on July 6 at 11:00 AM. Candidates will be able to add, delete, modify or rearrange their options till July 9. The final seat allotment result will be released three days later.”

Focus on NEET

KEA has advised students appearing for the NEET re-examination on Sunday to concentrate on their exam for now and enter the CET options after Monday.

Mr. Prasanna added, “Seat matrix for Agriculture, Veterinary and Bachelor of Nursing courses has already been released. For Engineering courses, only the draft seat matrix has been released and KEA is waiting for the final version. Once available, all the details will be uploaded on the website. Till then, candidates need not wait and can enter their options based on the draft seat matrix.”

To help students, KEA has also published a video on its website on how to enter course options and preferred colleges.

No pre-round counseling

This year, the pre-round consultation for students will not take place. “To avoid delays for students seeking admission to non-medical courses due to the issue of NEET re-examination, KEA has decided to abandon its earlier plan of conducting pre-round seat allotment. The counseling process will start directly from the first round as it was earlier,” he said.
