Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president KT Rama Rao addressed the sarpanches of Tandur constituency at Telangana Bhavan in Hyderabad on Saturday.
Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president KT Rama Rao has revealed that BRS chief and former Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao will soon lead the people’s movement as the honeymoon period of the Congress government ends.
Mr. Chandrasekhar Rao is also likely to address some public meetings as people are waiting for him and his address to the legislature party and state executive committee of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) on Sunday will give a clear direction to party cadres, he said.
In an informal chat with reporters at the Telangana Bhavan on Saturday, Mr. Rao shared his views on a range of issues related to Telangana politics and governance.
Mr. Rao said he favors values and dignity in politics, making it clear that involving family members in political discourse reflects poor ethics. He has stated that he will never speak against the family members of Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy even as he will continue to attack his family members.
Referring to the recent controversies, Mr. Rao observed that while the Chief Minister can choose to play football with anyone, the people of Telangana would react politically to his arrogance and failure. “Revanth Reddy may indulge in political theatre, but the people of Telangana will ‘play football’ with him politically.
Mr. Rao also criticized proposals to divide Hyderabad into multiple municipal corporations without consulting stakeholders, warning of administrative chaos.
He also alleged that there was a “collusion” between the Congress and the BJP and questioned Mr. Revanth Reddy’s attendance at the BJP MP’s inauguration ceremony in Delhi. He also claimed that BJP leaders are protecting the Chief Minister despite allegations of corruption.
On political defection, Mr. Rao urged the Chief Minister to make the defecting MLAs resign and face by-elections if he was so confident about the gram panchayat results. He accused the defectors of openly joining the Congress and still claiming to be in the BRS. Earlier, he addressed BRS-backed sarpanches from Tandur constituency.
