In the middle of amplification of speculation about a possible return to the unified democratic front (UDF), the Keral (M) Congress (M) is set to convene a major meeting of its state secretariat in Kottayam on Friday.
While the official agenda focuses on preparations for the upcoming local elections in the body, the initiates of the parties confirm that the recent failure in Nilambur Bypoll is probably dominated by discussion. “Concerns about anti-obcoma and growing unrest among the farmers are real. From farmers’ emergency and frequent attacks on wild game to unresolved problems, such as the Land Munambam series, the party must leave its traditional base of the vote.”
At the same time, the party acknowledges that leaving LDF will not be easy. CPI (m) made significant concessions to maintain KC (m) within the alliance, including the handover of Rajya Sabha chair to the chairman of the party Jose K. Mani. Without a clear alternative alliance and considerable political capital, the management has already invested cautious management.
Nevertheless, there is pressure within the party. Some fractions consider the current moment to be the opportunity to demand a larger share of chairs in local election elections and revive the power of KC (m). Whether the chairman of Jose K. Mani will support such an attitude remains uncertain.
Meanwhile, the party will put the foundations for its vote campaign, especially in central Travancore. There is an effort to deal with a number of local issues from the alleviation of flood flood floods to the solution of nature to wildlife in high ranges.
The intersection against the fatigue of voters and possible waves against the Incipitacy is also preparing for the position of people with strong roots of the community and family ties in the hope that familiar faces will help to regain public confidence at the department level.
Meanwhile, the Congress in Central Travancore has signaled his willingness to welcome KC (m) back to the fold of UDF. Given the consolidation of the Christian vote, the Congress sees the return of KC (m) as vital both to revive the central Travancore and for deeper engagement with the Catholic Church.
