KERALA (M), which seeks to expand its influence in the left democratic front (LDF), decided to promote a larger proportion of chairs in local body elections.
At the Saturday meeting of the Parliamentary Party in Kottayam, KC (M) stated that he was entitled to record more seats in the local body surveys. The decision sets the land for stricter LDF negotiations, especially with regard to the company’s attitude of the Communist Party of India (CPI) to distribute seats.
The meeting, chaired by the party chairman Jose K. Mani, also assigned responsibilities at the level of the MLA districts on the basis of reports submitted by local committees. The party leader’s strategy is designed to ensure a fairer share of LDF leadership.
The Minister of Water Resources Rosha Augustine, the government head of Whip N. Jayaraj and the Mla Michael, Pramod Narayanan and Sebastian Kolujungal were present. The meeting emphasized that the upcoming elections of the local authority that are considered to be the predecessor of the elections of the Assembly should be approached with maximum seriousness. The meeting also decided to create committees on local level to ensure that government social care systems would appeal to people.
The parties’ leaders expressed the confidence that a strong performance in the local elections in the body will prepare a way for excellent results in the elections to the assembly. The recent definition of exercises that increased the number of Gram Panchayat department and block and district divisions of Panchayat has further strengthened its case for more seats.
“The previous local elections in the body took place shortly after KC (M) became part of the LDF, but the party has made significant profits. This time with the increased number of departments, we require a larger share,” said KC (M) leader.
The leadership also believes that the party can capture several seats that are currently holding other components, including CPI. “Even CPI acknowledges that it has a little influence in districts like Kottayam. If they pass their weak chairs KC (M), LDF could sweep all the municipalities and most of the Panchayats gram in central Travancore,” the leader said.
The party is also envisaged with the newly established Act on Assigning the soil of Keral (amendment), 2023, to work in its favor across high ranges.
Meanwhile, the parties’ sources also revealed that KC (M) plans to require additional mounting chairs in the next year’s elections. “We will apply for a few seats, including Kuttiyadi, which we last advanced to India (Marxista) (CPI (M)). Our main focus focuses on Malabar’s high reach, where the Catholic community has a strong presence,” said the source.
