Khaja Bandanawaz University (KBN University) prioritizes the overall development of students by providing opportunities in sports, cultural activities and other co-curricular programs, Vice Chancellor Ashfaq Ahmed told.
He was speaking after inaugurating the 2026 Sports and Cultural Festival at Kalaburagi University on Monday.
“Sports contribute to the physical and mental development of students and have helped them stay cheerful and relieve stress in the midst of their busy lives. Participating in sports could improve overall health and help students relax and refresh their minds,” said Prof. Ahmed.
He said that KBN Turf has international level facilities and noted that the chancellor of the university, Syed Muhammad Ali Al-Husseini, has shown special interest in promoting the sport. He encouraged the students and faculty members to participate in the activities in abundance and appreciated all those who participated in the organization of the festival and described it as an example of teamwork.
KBN University Registrar Mir Vilayat Ali said that winning or losing is not important in sports and that all those who participated were winners. “Real victory lies in participation,” he said, adding that such opportunities are essential for the holistic development of students.
The six-day festival features a range of sports and cultural competitions, including carrom, chess, badminton, volleyball, throwing and shot put, as well as rangoli, mehendi, painting, poster making, singing and dancing competitions.
