The police registered the case against five persons on the basis of a complaint filed by Rahees, a friend of Razeena, a young woman who died suicide in Kayalode.
Mubashir, Faisal, Rafnaz, Suneer and Zakaria were appointed accused in case that includes accusations of the illegal assembly and attack. Mr. Rahees, who appeared on Saturday at the Pinaray Police Station, claimed that the accused had confronted Razeen and attacked her while talking to him inside the car.
According to the companies, they pulled him out, defeated him, threatened him with the release of photos and confiscated his three cell phones. He also said that one of the accused took him to a scooter to an isolated place and attacked him again.
Family assertion was rejected
Police previously arrested three out of five for a suicide on the basis of a note that Razeena, who allegedly quoted mental problems due to public humiliation. Mr. Rahees denied the family’s claim that he had financially used Razeena and told the police that he had met her three years ago through Instagram. Meanwhile, the incident turned into a political turn with the Indian Communist Party (Marxist) (CPI (M)), District Secretary of KK Ragesh, who began attacking the Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI). He accused the party of the organization “Moral Police”, which led to the death of a young woman.
“What happened in Kayalode was the moral police in the style of the Taliban. They punished the girl and her girlfriend and gave her a broad publicity on social media to embarrass her,” Mr. Ragesh said.
He also criticized SDPI claims that Rahees was a member of CPI (M) and called the tactics of “Goebbelsian propaganda”. Mr. Ragesh claimed that SDPI “killed her by humiliation” and held the responsible SDPI and Congress and said that UDF allowed religious fundamentalists to grow under his fold.
“The congress is quiet and now Razea is again humiliated with his own family,” he added.
