
The Minister of Agriculture and Chancellor of the University of Agriculture in Kerala P. Prasad introduced a budget at the university for 2025-26.
During the session of the General Council held on Saturday at the University headquarters, the Minister introduced a budget for a deficit budget of 258.53 Crore with an expected income of 650.79 GBP Crore and an expenditure of 909.32 GBP Crore.
As part of drug initiatives, the university will implement a program called “Sadgamaya”. In addition, the Minister announced that Nila Wine, produced in the University of Agricultural University, will be available on the market next year. In addition, customers with accounts exceeding 2,000 GBP on KTDC Salons will receive a free 750 ml bottle of wine.
The budget manifestation also mentioned the implementation of the project KERA “KERA” 24,777 GBP, supported by the World Bank, which aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from unpeeled fields.
The budget included financial assistance for postgraduate and research students, as well as assignments to the RAWE program (rural agricultural experience), improved library and various educational initiatives.
In the field of research, the university focuses on the development of the warning system of pests and a warning of artificial intelligence and to perform socio-envged impact studies of agricultural technologies.
The budget also focuses on the development of high -profile crops, hybrid vegetables resistant to adverse conditions and techniques of tissue culture for coconut seedlings. In addition, plans include the development of water saving systems for cultivating unpeeled.
In order to promote plant protection in the environment, the university intends to develop nano products. The aim is also to strengthen agricultural research to support business. The budget assigned funds to ensure the availability of high -quality seeds, planting materials and organic inputs at fair prices of farmers.
In the area of knowledge of knowledge, the university plans to implement projects that support the participation of farmers in agricultural technology development and awareness programs. Initiatives such as agricultural tourism and improvement of incubation facilities will also be introduced next year.
For the development of infrastructure, the budget includes the construction and reconstruction of hostels in various campuses and the establishment of the Coconut Museum in Balamarapuram.
