Kerala Agricultural University (KAU) achieved a main milestone with the founding of the General Directorate for Civil Aviation (DGCA), which was approved by the Pilot Center of Drone in its trade incubator Velalanikkara.
The establishment of this organization of remote pilot training is a significant step forward in integrating drones technology into agricultural research and practice. The aim of the center is located on the university campus and focuses on exceeding precise agricultural research with real world practices-it helps to optimize the volume of spray, timing of applications and nutrient management.
The project, funded by ZABARRD, reflects a shared commitment to support sustainable technology -based agriculture.
Vice -President Kau B. Ashok said that the new equipment would “help reduce production costs and create new qualified job opportunities in agriculture”. He added that this initiative would provide the much needed dynamics to the agricultural sector of Kerala, especially in dealing with the lack of work.
KN Anith, Director of Research, noted that the combination of standardized agricultural technologies of KAU with delivery systems based on drones would increase efficiency and profitability for farmers.
KP Sudheer, head of the KAU Agri trade incubator, said that the university had previously performed several programs of drones. “This means that the Kau offers an authorized course of distant pilots for the first time,” he said, adding that the initiative would encourage young entrepreneurs and start -ups to accept modern technology.
The Center, founded in cooperation with the Modha Aero Academy, seizes a new generation of technologically subtle farmers and farmers.
