Katy Perry’s pop icon, journalist Gayle King and four other women are ready to raise the Blue Origin crew to the next crew mission to take them to the edge of the space. But what exactly does it mean and how does it differ from a full -fledged space trip?
Here is everything you need to know about a short but breathtaking path.
What is the “edge of space”?
The “edge of space” usually refers to the line of Karman, which lies about 100 kilometers (62 miles) above the Earth’s surface. It is considered to be the border between the Earth’s atmosphere and the universe.
The new shepard missile Jeff Bezosho Blue The origin is designed to briefly cross this line, allowing passengers to experience weightlessness and see the curvature of the country.
How does it differ from a space tour?
Unlike orbital space flights (such as those that have reached the international space station), this path is suborbital – which means that it does not mix the country. Instead, the rocket fires directly up, the coast at the highest point just behind the line Karman and then falls back under the parachutes.
No widespread stay in space
It’s space, but short and sweet.
How long will it last?
The whole flight will take about 10 minutes – including:
3-4 minutes weightless
A few minutes of panoramic views over giant windows
Mating assisted descent and safe landing in the desert in West Texas
