Kalamandalam Narayanan Nair
Artist Kathakali Maddalam Kalamandalam Naire Nair died on Friday in Amala hospital in Thrissur. Recently he has fought age -related diseases.
Nair Nair was a disciple of the legendary Kalamandalam Appukutti’s divided known for his disciplined and distinctive bump style, which distinguished him from his contemporaries in Maddalam. His latest performance was Vishwambhara during the recent festival in Kottakkal Temple.
Nair Nair was a real ambassador of the Indian classic drum prize, such as Kerala Kalamandalam award, Kerala Sangeeth Nataka Academy and Kathakali Awards, Nairnan Nair. His artistic journey led him to more than 50 countries, including the US, Japan, Australia, New Zealand and Europe. His wife, Ottan Thulla, the artist Kalamandalam Devaki, died two years ago.
For many years he worked as a devoted teacher in Unnayi Warrier Smaraka Kalanilayam, Irinjalakuda and Kerala Kalamandalam. Later he and his wife settled in Nanys, where they co -founded Sree Dhanwanthari Kalaksheretram, a cultural institution that mentions countless students.
