
Uday Kumar, 35, a native of Puthige in Kasaragod, who was among the 18 laborers rescued from alleged involuntary farm labor in Karnataka’s Hassan district, was brought back and handed over to the Kasaragod district administration on Saturday (April 18), officials said.
The labourers, including two Keralites, were freed during a joint raid by the Karnataka Police and the Finance Department at Chatnahalli village near Halebeed in Karnataka. According to officials, the workers were imprisoned and forced to work without pay.
