Karur Congress MP S. Jothimani on Friday raised the issue on social media about non-cooperation of party functionaries in the appointment of Booth Level Agents (BLAs) recommended by her in Karur district.
In a social media post, the MP claimed that “no political party would ever think of preventing its own Members of Parliament from submitting the list of polling station representatives to the Election Commission during elections” and that such incidents are common in Congress.
“Day after day, Tamil Nadu Congress is in the news for all the wrong reasons, unrelated to people’s problems. Tamil Nadu is facing an unprecedented danger from communist, separatist and violent forces. In this context, all political parties have a responsibility to handle the upcoming elections with utmost care,” but the Congress really said about the magnitude of this responsibility.
Ms. Jothimani said, “The unchecked internal conflicts persisting in the Tamil Nadu Congress are causing disillusionment. Without steadfastly pursuing principled politics, without talking about people’s problems and only engaging in petty factional squabbles, the Tamil Nadu Congress is gradually embarking on a path of destruction for the selfish gains of a few.”
TNCC boss shocked
Tamil Nadu Congress Committee president K. Selvaperunthagai said he was shocked to know that she had posted about the issue on social media, although she had spoken to him and AICC Tamil Nadu in-charge Girish Chodankar.
“I have been working all day. We have appointed village committees, run Vote Chori campaigns. I am shocked and still don’t know why she posted such generalized allegations. She could have told the same to me or Girish Chodankar ji. I will talk to her,” he said.
