Congress MP Karur Jothimani on Friday accused the Tamil Nadu Congress Committee (TNCC) leadership of not being transparent in seat-sharing talks with the DMK for the Assembly elections.
She posted on X that Congress leaders should understand the sentiments of the party cadre, which itself would facilitate the growth of the party. “We are absolutely disappointed and disgusted,” she said.
The MP was upset over reports that the party would not win the Vedasandur constituency. “We have worked so hard there over the years. It is only when a Congress candidate wins a seat that there is jubilation all around,” she said.
The BJP cadre is too agitated
Meanwhile, some BJP cadres at Palani in Dindigul district resorted to a road blockade for a brief period on Friday evening. After learning that they were not allotted the Palani constituency on the NDA front, the cadre shouted slogans and staged a demonstration in the city.
The BJP high command was supposed to have all the Assembly constituencies in which the famous shrines were located. Like Palani, the Thirupparankundram constituency in Madurai was retained by the AIADMK, they said.
