Subsequent chemotherapy will soon be more accessible and available for patients with cancer in Karnataka.
This month, 36 -day chemotherapeutic centers for chemotherapy 36 day care are to be launched.
Until now, patients with cancer in the state had to visit either the state -controlled conservation institute of Kidwai oncology in Bengalur and Kalaburagi or private hospitals for chemotherapy.
Depending on the number of chemotherapeutic sessions prescribed, patients had to either accept themselves or travel here and there for subsequent therapy from the relevant home cities as a result of a long waiting period.
Now, with daily care centers, patients can obtain subsequent chemotherapeutic sessions for solid tumors such as oral, breasts, cervix, lung cancer and colon cancer at the nearest district hospital.
The first cycle of therapy will be listed in the Tercary Care Center under the supervision of a medical oncologist, according to Srinivas G., the state deputy director (unconjustable illness).
Hub
Naveen Bhat Y., the director of the state mission, the National Health Mission (NHM), who is also the administrator of Kidwai, said the daily care centers would be set up on a hub and got off in 16 districts and 20 Medical College hospitals. Tertiary care was empatized by hospitals, which would be connected with nodes that would be associated with hospitals in the district and the Faculty of Medicine, where daily care centers would be established, he said.
The justifier that Kidwai was one of the charge center, the clerk said that the children’s care facility would shorten the travel time and waiting time for patients to receive fundamental cancer treatment.
Daily care centers would be operated by doctors and anesthesiums who would be trained by doctors to give therapy.
However, chemotherapy would not be provided for patients with pediatric cancer with leukemia and other blood cancer in daily care, because it was necessary to perform under the supervision of medical oncologists, said Dr. Srinivas.
A proposal for chemotherapeutic centers with daily care, which was announced in last year’s state budget, is now being carried out. This year’s budget over the next three years also announced the establishment of 200 cancer care centers in government hospitals.
Chemotherapy is a treatment where drugs are used to stop the growth of cancer cells either by killing cells or preventing them from being divided. It is given by the mouth, injection or infusion or on the skin, depending on the type and phase of the cancer treated.
