
The Government of Karnataka, which expressed concerns about the expanding gap between the number of national candidates for entry into competence (Neet) and available medical seats, called the Karnataka government on Wednesday to significantly increase university medical seats across the country.

“This disparity requires immediate attention. Doctors we train in India are not only for our country, but for the world,” he said.
“There is a significant mismatch between demand and availability. NMC must intervene,” he said, addressed NMC chairman Dr. BN Gangadhara, who was present at the event.
The formal proposal has already been sent to NMC, which was looking for approval for another 800 university and 600 postgraduate medical seats in Karnataka since this academic year.
Dr. At his address, Gangadhara emphasized the global shortage of nearly 3 Crore doctors and encouraged the younger generation to take medical careers.
“Indian doctors are very demanded around the world, thanks to their strong academic foundation and English knowledge. One of the key objectives of NMC is to produce globally recognized healthcare workers,” he said.
