Two sisters, aged 23 and 20, died after inhaling toxic gas released from a gas geyser at their house at Bettadapura in Periyapatna taluk nearby on Friday.
The deceased have been identified as Gulfam Taj and Simraj Taj, daughters of Altaf and Surayya.
The sisters reportedly fell unconscious after inhaling toxic gas in the bathroom. They were pronounced dead after being taken to hospital.
The bodies were handed over to the parents after post-mortem at a government hospital.
Mysuru Superintendent of Police N. Vishnuvardhan said a complaint in this regard has been registered and investigation is on.
Meanwhile, in another accident, a five-year-old girl died and another was injured when they were hit by a tractor at Alanahalli in HD Kote taluk not far from here on Friday.
The deceased girl was identified as the daughter of a migrant couple from Bihar who worked in a poultry factory in the area.
