
As of Crucial Meeting of Irrigations Minister of the Four States That Make up the Krishna River Basin Comprising Karnataka, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana Has Been Scheduled for May 7 in New Delhi, Karnataka Chief The State’s Stand on the Matter and Urge to Issue and Gazette Notification on the Krishna Water Award Tribunal-II to ensure the protection of state share of water.
Minister of the Union for Jal Shakti CR Patil convened a meeting to discuss the KWDT-II price. Representative of the main Minister DK Shivakumar, who also holds the main and medium irrigation portfolio and battery of officials, would represent Karnataka.
The tribunal led by Brijesh Kumar, who initiated his proceedings in July 2007, submitted his proposal to the sentence of 31 December 2010 and the final judgment on 29 November 2013.
KWDT-II assigned to Karnataka 73 TMCft of water, of which 130 TMCFT were assigned to upper Krishna Project-III (UKP-III).
Meeting all parties
Mr Siddarahaiah ordered officials to take all measures to protect the interests of the state and secure the share of water. After meeting on May 7, the main minister decided to organize a meeting of all parties to discuss the implementation of the award of KWDT-II.
Mr. Shivakumar told reporters that the state government had submitted the petition in the past and called for a notice of the tribunal pricing. Despite several claims of the government of the government in the center, they have not been awarded the price in the last 15 years.
The main minister said that farmers from the UKP-III phase have been waiting for several years to irrigate their agricultural land by using the share of water according to the price of the Tribunal.
