Karnataka swine flu case: 41-year-old man dies of H1N1 in Mangaluru

A 41-year-old man from Uttara Kannada district succumbed to H1N1 infection at a private hospital in Mangaluru.
The man, an agricultural laborer from Yallapur taluk in Uttara Kannada district, was suffering from fever and sought treatment at a private clinic.
Due to further complications, he was admitted to a private hospital in Sirsi on June 17. However, as he subsequently developed respiratory complications, he was taken to Mangaluru and admitted to a private hospital for further treatment, where he was found to be infected with the H1N1 virus, according to Yallapur taluk health officer Dr. Narendra Pawar.
The man died on Sunday (June 21, 2026).
After it was confirmed that it was swine flu, the hygienists contacted the family members and asked them to take precautionary measures including wearing masks.
