Nagalakshmi Choudhara, chairman of the State Commission of Karnataka for Women, organized an interactive meeting on Saturday with workers involved in the National Employment Act Mahatma Gandhi (MGNGA) in the Kalaburagaga district on Saturday. During the meeting she listened to their problems and fears.
During her interaction, she said she was traveling in 26 districts in the state, but found a unique quality among MGNGA workers in Honnakiranagi. She noted that 47 families completed 100 days in this program and felted these workers. In addition, she stressed that two female workers deposited each 1 lakh earned through the NREGA system, on their bank accounts. In the coming days, she encouraged all wage workers to continue working within the NREGA system.

Bhanwar Singh Meena, CEO of Kalaburagi Zilla Panchayat, noted that Honnakiranagi Gram Panchayat effectively implemented the NREGA system and gained recognition at national level. He urged every pay worker to enroll in the Pradhan Mantri program Jeevan Jyoti Bim Yojan and Pradhan Mantri Surraksha Bim Yojan Insurance. They were also reported that the daily wage under NREGA was raised to 370 GBP from 1 April 2025 and recommended everyone to work according to the prescribed measurements.
A total of 425 wages participated in the interactive program. A free health camp was also organized on this occasion.
The event is outside the participation of the famous Goater MD.
